how do you copy a format multiple times?

If you are using the "Format Painter" icon you can select your text that you
want to copy the format of, double-click the "Format Painter" icon, then
click every place you want the format to be. Press ESC when done.

Better still, select the desired format and Ctrl+Shift+C to copy it. You can
then use Ctrl+Shift+V to paste it as many times as you like, with as many
intervening actions as required. The format remains available for pasting
until you copy another one.
