Default place holders in signature

Help please.....
I am using Outlook 2003 with Word as my email editor.
Have signatures but in the last three weeks, when I create a new email
my signature show the place holders (not grey fields, but pink place holders).
When I send, it is fine, the recipient does not see the place holders and
the signature displays fine. But the fact that the place holders are showing
in my "compose" new message is making me nuts. I even went through the
posted questions and tried going into control panel to make sure under
"internet" options
that Word is my html editor....but...FrontPage is my html editor in those
settings.
Please help.....I need to remove these nutty pink place holders before I go
batty.
Thank you all for any help you can give me,
Candice

Have you considered asking in an Outlook newsgroup?

Yes, I have posted in both groups. I have not gotten a reply in Outlook
newsgroup
so I posted here thinking the outlook group would say/think this is a word
issue.
Have you any idea's what is going on with these place holders?

Sorry, I have no idea what's causing the problem. To me, it sounded
like an Outlook issue (that's why I suggested an Outlook forum).
