Default What format do I use to "Save as" a word document to ASCII file?

I have a document I typed in Word (.doc) I need to e-mail it to someone and
they ask for it in an "ASCII file" format. When I do "save as" and look at
my choices, I don't see ASCII so which one means the same thing, if any?
Thanks for any help.
