Default stop date updating automatically

Hi I have a letter template that I use for quotes.
I have the date line set to todays date.

I would like it to stop updating, once I have saved the document as a .doc

Every time I open the document I lose the date of the letter.

Thanks Tim

In your template, use a CreateDate field instead of Date. See
