How do I revert back to a previously saved Word document?
I pasted information over a previously saved word document.
I then ussually click "save as" so that it does not over write the other file. But this time I accidently clicked "save". I want to restore the previously saved file... I am using Word XP Thank you |

I want to restore the previously saved file... I am using Word XP control-Z one or two times should restore the file to its original condition under normal circumstances. If you've saved and closed the file however I'm afraid you're out of luck. However there is a ray of hope. Go to the folder where your documents are saved and if there's a file named "backup of {filename}.wbk" there ("filename" being the name of the file you're trying to recover) rename it to "backup of {filename}.doc"; open it; and see if you've recovered your work. -- Bob Kanyak's Doghouse http://www.kanyak.com |
