Sure. Just record a macro of inserting the date and time (without the Update
option):

Then assign the macro to a command button or toolbar button:

Sub InsertTimeLowerCase()
With Selection
.Collapse Direction:=wdCollapseStart
.InsertAfter Format(Date, "d MMM yyyy, ")
.InsertAfter Format(Time(), "h:mm am/pm")
.Collapse Direction:=wdCollapseEnd
