On the Tables and Borders toolbar, there's an AutoSum button with the Greek
letter sigma (Σ) on it. Put your cursor in the cell IMMEDIATELY below the
column of figures you want to sum, and click the AutoSum button.

You can't have any blank rows in the column, or it will only sum up to the
blank row. (Put zeros in any blank rows.) It also has trouble with any
non-numeric symbols, so make sure you don't have any footnotes or reference
numbers (or fraction symbols) in your column.

I hope this helps.

Fred

If your numbers are in a tabbed (rather than table) column, see
