Labels Issue
I have a table placed in the footer for file path reasons in the normal.dot.
When I create a label using "New Document" it puts the last row of the label (Using 5160) on the 2nd page. I need to keep this table in the footer but prevent it from going to the next page. Any ideas out there? where do the label tempaltes live? Can I do something there? -- CLG |

Word's label feature always uses Normal.dot to create its documents, and it _requires_ that there is no header or footer in that template. You're seeing what happens when you violate that rule. I can suggest two possible paths: 1. Create one or more different templates for all your other documents and put the footer table in those templates. Use these templates instead of Normal.dot for everything except labels. It can help to put the FileNewDialog command on a toolbar button (http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Custom...oToToolbar.htm) to get easy access to the dialog where you choose the template on which to base a new document. 2. Temporarily remove the footer from Normal.dot. Use the New Document button in the Labels dialog to create an "empty" label document -- that is, a table with empty cells -- and save that as a template. Now you can put back the footer in Normal.dot. Use the new template instead of the Labels dialog. (Again, it will help to put a FileNewDialog button on the toolbar to get easy access to the template.) If you need a whole page of the same label, create the first cell, copy it to the clipboard, select the whole table and paste. Labels Issue
Jay, thanks so much. Bummer. I think I will create a label template for
them to use instead because they need all new documents to have this table for a possible footer. I created some cool macros that add a file/path to the first cell only (this makes it a manageable and does not create a "bleed over" to the page number) and one to remove it. I have a host of label macros that they can use so..... You are most kind and thoughtful. Best wishes during the holiday season and a very happy new year! -- CLG "Jay Freedman" wrote: On Tue, 11 Dec 2007 13:18:02 -0800, Legal Learning wrote: I have a table placed in the footer for file path reasons in the normal.dot.
