Default Opening Word

When I open Word 2007 - it opens with a (template?) to make a header - on the
page. I want it to open with a completely blank page with my default margins
and type style.

Thank you

That didn't seem to work. Following that website instructions I got rid of
the old document showing up but still ended up with the page with MMA in a
rectangle.

Where and what is the "MMA in a rectangle"? You didn't mention
anything like that before.

Do you have any add-ins running? Go to Office button Word Options
Add-Ins; what's listed under "Active Applications Add-Ins"?
