Default Delete confirmation in Word 2002.

Every time I highlight a word or phrase in my word 2002 and hit the delete
key a little dialog opens on the bottom left of the window and asks if I
want to delete the text. y (n) And I have to hit the y or n to do anything.
How do I turn off that STUPID feature?

In Word, click on Tools | Options | General | uncheck the two boxes for
WordPerfect help and navigation | OK.
