Default RTF - Some Associated Character Control Words not working

Did lot of tries/research/investigation on this. I have an RTF file using
associated characters. The syntax is as follows:

{\rtf1\fbidis\ansi\ansicpg1256\deff0\deflang1065{\ fonttbl{\f0\fswiss\fcharset0 Arial;}{\f1\fswiss\fcharset178{\*\fname Arial;}Arial (Arabic);}}
{\*\generator Msftedit
5.41.15.1507;}\viewkind4\uc1\pard\ltrpar\lang1033\ f0\fs20\par
\plain\ltrch\af\acaps
intersoft sample text \plain\rtlch \lang1056\f1 \'e3\'e3 \'e4\'e4 \'e4\'e4
\lang1033\f0\ltrch\par
}

The control word \acaps doesn't work (doesn't show its effect). If I use \ai
(for italics) , \ab (for bold) ... the effects do come. Is this a known bug?
Or is there any thing wrong with the syntax above?

Also tried using the following control words, but these too dont show any
visual effect.

\acaps

\acfN

\adnN

\aexpndN

\alangN

\aoutl

\ascaps

\ashad

\astrike

\auld

\auldb

\aulnone

\aulw

\aupN

Going kindof nuts on these... any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
