If you're looking for the format of the letter, any letter template will
work. If you're asking about suggested wording, this is not the right place. Sorry. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] ~~~~~ How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/KB/555375 "Patty" wrote in message ... How do I type a Hardship Letter? |

Hardship Letter
Patty - sorry the other two responders treated you so harshly.
I am not an MVP of this site but I have search online for wording of letters myself. If you type into your web search bar something to the effect of writing a letter of hardship or suffix that with "; How to" or :" tutorial" You should pull up several websites which give at least a sample. Microsoft has a templates thing that you may find possibilities in also. I hope you find what you need. If not, post back to me and we could talk off this site and I will gladly do what I can to give you a hand. Again, I apologize for the rudeness of the other too - brains don't always come with common sense and manners in tow. Hope this helps. -- Thanks and God bless you and yours, Gabriella777_2 "Patty" wrote: How do I type a Hardship Letter? |

Hardship Letter
I am sorry if you felt that I miss interpretted you - but I maintain my
statement. You do not know this person's story. Are you her? NO you are not. Were you there when she wrote her post? Again, NO you were not. There are possibilities that maybe you did not think of - maybe this person was asked to fill in in a job she normally doesn't do. Besides, who ever expects to have to write a hardship letter? If someone goes into business expecting to have to write a hardship letter - I feel sorry for them and would hope that someone comes their way to give them a brighter perspective. No one plans to fail. Sometimes it just happens. But now that I have been on my soapbox as my mother would say I'll let you go. And please remember these are humans just like you. They come to you for help. Not a slap in the face. -- Thanks and God bless you and yours, Gabriella777_2 "Tom Willett" wrote: ...and mine was realistic. Writing hardship letters does not have to be difficult, but you need to know what your lender is looking for. Many homeowners simply do not understand the basics of writing an effective hardship letter and this is costing them their homes.
A sample hardship letter is not a cure-all for every situation. It is a template to help you get your words down on paper. Because every situation is different and so is every loan modification plan hardship letter. When you study the sample hardship letter it will demonstrate the proper tone you should have because the reader will have to grasp your predicament on the first pass so that you will be remembered. And when hundreds of loan modification plans cross the desk of a loss mitigator you need to rise above the pack. Here are some points to make in your hardship letter 1. Use the Subject Line to Get your Point Across: The subject line instantly lets the loss mitigator know why you are writing this letter. 2. Keep it Brief: This is not the time to tell your life story. Keep to the point. Let the loss mitigator know your problem and how you think that the lender can help you fix it. 3. Be Personal: The person reading the letter has to get to know you and your family so get this across. This attention to the personalization of your problem will set you apart from the other cases. In fact the loss mitigator may actually pay more attention to you because of this connection. 4. Clarity: Your hardship letter for mortgage relief should be written in brief, concise paragraphs with a summary. 5. Information: Your financial hardship package should be accompanied by other important information: bank statements, cash flow documents, income tax statements, and letters of reference. 6. Gratitude: State how appreciative you are that you have been given the chance to convey your situation to someone who is willing to listen. Because this person is willing to help the hardship letter for your mortgage should be humble in tone. |

Here are some Main Points in writing a Hardship Letter 1. Reason in Subject Line: In a short sentence you will explain to the loss mitigator the reason for writing your hardship letter. Because it is in the subject lien the person in charge will have the point before reading the body of the letter. 2. Brief Document: The sample hardship letter will keep on point. There is no reason to tell your life story here and you will be kept on track. 3. It’s Personal: The person reading the letter will get to know you through this letter. Your name will stick in their memory because it’s human nature to want to help people you know. 4. Clear Points: The sample hardship letter will keep you on track with concise paragraphs and a summary. 5. The Whole Hardship Kit: The instruction with the sample hardship will help you get a list of the documents you’ll need to send along. These should include bank statements, income tax statements, letters of reference. etc. 6. Your Appreciation: Because this person is there to help you your sample hardship letter will a few sentences of appreciation. This will also help cement your situation into the mind of the loss mitigator. People in tough jobs like to be appreciated. |
