Default external table of contents

Hello,

I was wondering:

I need to create a document with a table of contents, linked to another word
documentfile. Is there a way to do this? I tried to edit the link of the
contents table, but this didn't work...

anyone?

thanks!

You can create an external TOC using RD fields, which it appears you may
already have done, but I don't believe it will be hyperlinked to the
headings in the other documents.

This is a problem I have. Can you explain by what you mean by using "RD"
fields?

I have 1 document broken up into 4 different Word docs. I want to be able to
click an entry in my main TOC and have it call up that heading in, say, part
3 of my document (again, "part 3" is another Word doc).
I've used ALT SHFT O to mark entries for my TOC throughout my doc. The
entries in my TOC are just section headings, like "Purpose and Use", etc.
from my doc.

Can you help?
