When I try to reply to a message using Word as my Email Editor in Outlook, I
get the message that "Word is unavailable, not installed, or is not the same
version as Outlook. The Outlook e-mail editor will be used instead. An OLE
registration error occured. The program is not currently installed. Run Setup
again for the program."
I have installed all available updates from Microsoft. I have run detect
and repair in both Word and Outlook. My orginal install was from Office 2003
Professional, so everything is the same version. I have not been able to
find any other information on this problem. Any ideas?

It would probably be better to ask this in an OUTLOOK newsgroup.

But if I had to trouble-shoot this on my system, I'd start by booting Windows in
Safe Mode to see if the behavior persists. If it goes away, then I'd start
looking at third-party software, such as anti-virus and file management tools,
that could be interfering with Office automation. The Norton Antivirus Office
plug-in, for example, would be a hot candidate.
