Pasted text doesnot stay in document's default font. What to do?
In Wood 2003 I have a long document with stuff pasted from many places. I
have made Times New Roman 12 Regular my default on the font dialog box. I have selected all text and made sure it was set as Times New Roman 12 Regular. Later, during editing, when I select a paragraph that is Times New Roman 12 Bold and want it to be regular, I type control_spacebar (assigned to "resetchar") to reset it to default. But the text switches to courier new 10 regular (which I never use). What's up? |

You'll need to change the "normal" style in this document. Seems it's set to
courier. ************ Anne Troy VBA Project Manager www.OfficeArticles.com "Jakemas" wrote in message ... In Wood 2003 I have a long document with stuff pasted from many places. Or the pasted text is in a style for which Courier New is the Default

Thanks for the info. How can I set my default font to Times New Roman regular
12 so that body text only comes in as default or becomes default when I highlight it and do a resetchar? Everytime? "Suzanne S. If the text is in, say, Plain Text style, then ResetChar will not change it.
To do that you'd have to apply Normal style (Ctrl+Shift+N) or another style for which TNR is the default font. Alternatively, you can paste unformatted. -- Suzanne S. Pasted text doesnot stay in document's default font. What to
I do a lot of cut and paste and get these problems. It is a little more
complex than I expected. But is it possible to set up a word document so that it shows by color or some indicator when I am in mormal style or other style or font or format etc? Thanks "Suzanne S. The style window in the formatting toolbar does this. If you are editing in
normal view, you can have your styles display in the left margin. Also, if you copy text without paragraph marks, i.e. only a single paragraph or less at a time, it will not copy the style. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup.
