How do you set up customized headings so that they number sequentially? I set
the numbering option to outline. It numbered all H1s the same number as well as H2s etc. I highlighted the second H1 and second H2 and saw that "Continue with previous list" was selected. |

You need to apply outline numbering as described at

evidently I am missing something here. I had all that you had on your page
but it still will not name in sequence. It just names all H1's 1.0 and all H2's 1.1. It will not name them 1.0 Blah blah 1.1 blah blah 1.2 blah blah 2.0 Blah blah 2.1 blah blah 2.2 blah blah "Suzanne S. Check to make sure that the 1 you see in the Customize Outline Numbered List
dialog has a gray box around it. If it doesn't, it's not a field but a typed number. If so, delete it and change the number format to (none) and then back to 1, 2, 3 to reinsert the number properly. -- Suzanne S.
