ToolbarToggle has created an add-in for Word, Excel and PowerPoint that
brings back the original Office 2003 menus and toolbars into Office 2007 for
less than $20.

Besides being able to customize and add unlimited toolbars and menu items,
ToolbarToggle allows the old style floating and docking anywhere. Through a
key press, you can turn the Ribbon on or off, turn the commandbars and menus
on or off as well REPLACE the Ribbon entirely. ToolbarToggle even accepts
shortcut keys (Alt+F, Alt+E, etc..).

Please try the demo let us know if you feel this helps solve your problems.

You can download ToolbarToggle from:
http://www.toolbartoggle.com

Joanne,

This simply isn't true. Just because you prefer the new interface doesn't
make a solution people are looking for "spam".

You should be reported - as a former MVP myself we helped lots of people
including referring software solutions.

Last of all, if its on MS Office Download site its hardly spam.

In fact, what about all the other MVP's who have replied recommending our
software along with Patrick Schmid's Ribbon Customizer .. etc... - thats not
spam either.

Seriously - I think you are way off base and not helping the community with
options because you don't agree with them

I disagree. If JoAnn's going to report someone, it should be mxk, who keeps
periodically posting about Advanced Word Repair at
http://www.datanumen.com/awr/.

Hmm...

I'm not sure that reposting a link is the best way to complain about it. And
the fact that there may be a worse offender is hardly a good defence.

Posts which are purely adverts would all seem, to me, to be inappropriate;
unfortunately, they seem to be getting much more common. Although it may be,
in some circumstances, worth saying "somebody else may be able to sell you a
solution", that is vastly different from saying "I can sell you a solution".

I agree in general, but in this specific instance, when do we stop promoting
these add-ins? When Word 2007 first launched, many users were desperate for
a solution that would restore the look and feel of Word 2003. They were more
than happy to hear about ToolbarToggle, Ribbon Customizer, and other add-ins
that promised this, and we were doing them a favor by telling them about
them. If a user today asks for such a solution and none of us point him in
the right direction*, then I can't get too exercised when the author of one
of the add-ins takes up the slack.

*To my mind the best approach is a reference to
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...mizeRibbon.htm, in which Word
MVP Bill Coan reviews both Ribbon Customizer and ToolbarToggle.
