Is it possible to have autotext enter information from one document into
another (if they're both open). For instance, I have a document that will have a persons name on it and the place of their donations. I want that info transfered to another document that will have the same thing, just slightly different and instead of having to enter it into both, I just enter information into one document, and then it appears in the other. Thanks! |

I looked at those sites, and didn't find anything useful. Maybe I'm missing
what I'm supposed to be looking for, but if you can provide a direct link to help me out, or tell me what to click to make this happen, I'd appreciate it. Thanks Charles! Suzanne, I tried to follow the tips on the website you gave me, but I keep
getting an "ERROR! Bookmark not defined" message. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks! "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote: See http://daiya.mvps.org/includetext.htm -- Suzanne S. Probably because you haven't defined a bookmark in the source document.

I'm sorry, I must really be stupid. This is what I've done so far.
In the main document (the one that I'll type in and the information will be duplicated in another document), I've highlighted my text or where I'm going to be typing, I've gone to bookmark, added a bookmark named "DonationName" and then I went to the second document (the one that the information will be transfered to) clicked on insertfile, then clicked on "Range," then typed my bookmark name (DonationName), then clicked "insert as link." This is where is keeps giving me the "ERROR! Bookmark not defined" message. Does that help you out any as to knowing what I'm doing/doing wrong? Any more info would be appreciated. Thanks! I didn't write the article and don't have much experience with this, but (a)
did you save the document with the bookmark in it before using Insert | File, and (b) is there a possibility you overwrote the bookmark when you typed in the source file? -- Suzanne S.
