Default 's change to =s after save in Words 2000

Using Word 2000. After saving a form document (.dot) and re-open it, all
's change to =s. I just started having this problem so I add the format to
Auto-Correct. I made the cahnge but it did not hold when re-opened. I have
over 300 forms and will only correct them as staff members find the problem.
Any ideas.

Hi Steven,

It's not a problem with AutoCorrect. Your files very probably came from
WordPerfect, which used a special font, "WP Typographic Symbols", for quotes and
other special characters.
It would be best to get rid of those weird symbols once and for all.

I think this web page by Edward Mendelson should help:

Regards,
Klaus
