Default Table Size/Scroll Bars

Is it possible in Word 2003 to insert a table in a document that is fixed in
viewing size (so it doesn't run on for pages) but actually contains more
content than what is seen? Perhaps a vertical scroll bar could pop up on the
table when it's reached a certain length? Or maybe this is possible through
inserting an excel sheet in a word document?

I'm not by any means a Word expert - so any information would help! Thanks!!

Sort of. You can make the table wrapped and then clear the check box in
Tools | Options | Compatibility that allows wrapped tables to break over
pages. This will make the table extend off the bottom of the page. The
entire table will be visible in Normal view but not in Print Layout. Since
Compatibility Options settings travel with the document, as does the view,
you could save the doc in Normal view if you had to send it out. Of course,
printing would be impractical.
