Default Bullet inconsistency between .dot and .doc

I have a template with 4 levels of bullet lists (with corresponding bullet
sublists). Everything looks perfect in the .dot file.

The template is attached to a doc. But on the doc, most of the bullet lists
and sublists are changed to numbered lists, and the indentation isn't correct.

This is driving me crazy - I've verified everything I can think of:
-- the template is saved, closed, and in the correct Templates folder
-- I've opened, closed the doc, and I've attached and re-attached the
correct template from the correct location multiple times.
-- I open the docs side-by-side and for example, "List Bullet 4" still looks
correct in the dot file but "List Bullet 4" (the identical tag/style) is
numbered and left-justified in the doc.

Words normal numbered lists are not even part of the template. (I've created
auto-text entries for numbered lists).

Any ideas?

When you attached the template to the document, did you check the
'automatically update styles' check box? Otherwise the style parameters in
the document will be retained.

Thanks, Graham. Yes, I had the box selected. Going to Style Gallery seemed to
resolve the issue -- I'm not clear on exactly why or how, but it did. Thank
you again for your feedback.
