Default Change the indentation in the address window/Letters and mailings

I use a custom atalog Label set-up for my mailing labels. The default spacing
sets the margin too far to the left column. How can I change the default
setting?

Label are just tables, so change the left margin in the cells by selecting
Properties from the Tables menu.

Hope this helps.

Doug, Thanks for the tip. However, I went to Word / Table /and the dropdown
for properties is grayed out. So I tried something else: Tools/Letters and
Mailings/Envelopes and labels and got to the address window. I right-clicked
in the window and went to Paragraph / Indent (left). I was able to chenage
the setting to what I wanted (from 0" to 1") but it won't stay permanently
changed. Any thoughts from here on how to get it to save the new settings?

You must not have had the selection inside the table. If it is inside the
table, the Properties item will be enabled.

If you're trying to do this through the Labels dialog, you'll have better
luck using paragraph formatting. Select the paragraph(s), right-click,
choose Paragraph, and apply a left indent. If you're creating a mail merge
main document, you can do this in the document itself before merging the
labels.
