How create shortcut to insert date in doc? like Ctrl + D?
Is there a shortcut key to insert the current date into a document (NOT TO
UPDATE) ? In Wordperfect this is done by Ctrl+D. If no key, can I create one and how? |

How create shortcut to insert date in doc? like Ctrl + D?
Alt+Shift+D inserts a DATE field, which *will* update. To insert a
plain-text date, you can use Alt+Shift+D followed by Left Arrow, Ctrl+Shift+F9 (which unlinks the field), Right Arrow, or you can start typing and let Word AutoComplete the date (very tricky and fickle). Another approach is to insert a CREATEDATE field, which will insert the date that is current when you create the document; this field never updates. If you save this field as an AutoText entry, you can assign any desired keyboard shortcut to it. -- Suzanne S.
