Default Shortening the number of pages in a Word 2007 document

In Word 2003 it was possible (sometimes) to reduce the number of pages in a
Word documet. Thus far I cannot find a way to do this in a Word 2007
document? Does anyone know of a way to do this in Word 2007?

You're probably thinking of the Shrink button in the Print Preview
toolbar. In Word 2007, when the Print Preview is visible, the Shrink
One Page button is in the Preview group of the ribbon, and it works
the same way.

There are much better ways to reduce a document, though. See

Dear Mr. Friedman:
Thank you very much for your prompt reply. I followed your
instructions and the problem disappeared.
Than you again,
