Default Word doesn't starts fine

Using both Enric's and Suzanne's advice, I've uninstalled the Creative
Commons add-in, which fairly obviously caused the Autoexec error to pop up,
but I still get the same error message on opening and closing Word. So I
tried deleting normal.dot, and that didn't help. Any other ideas? It's a
little but utterly maddening thing.

Thanks,

Tom

Following up on my own posting, like a dope, I forgot to say that I'm using

Hi Tom,

The MS Word newsgroups are generally setup by Word functionality rather than by version. This is a fine place to post questions and
concerns about the 2007 version

Be sure to also send your experiences directly to the MS Office 2007 product team by using the 2007 feedback tool from the link
below.

I have no inclination to mess around with beta software, but if 2007 is
anything like earlier versions, uninstalling thjird party software does not
necessarily uninstall the addins. Check whether the add-in template is still
loaded.

I checked, and it's not. There's PDFMaker.dot, context_10.dot, and the Smart
Tags, Measurement Converter and Person Name (Outlook e-mail recipients). And
the add-in that started all this isn't even listed in the Inactive
Application Add-ins list.

Urghh.

But that's what I get for messing around with beta software, right? (I
should add that I otherwise love Word 2007 so far--the interface is a great
improvement.)

Thanks. Any other ideas? Anyone who's wise in the ways of this beta?

Whatever the mechanics of loading 2007's add-ins, an incompatible add-in
clearly is still present, otherwise you wouldn't be getting errors from the
macros it contains. Try removing *all* the add-ins and reintroduce those
that are compatible (probably not PDFMaker.dot which needed an update to
make it work with 2003! - and I don't know context-10.dot)

Hi Tom,

Be sure to let Microsoft know of your experience in Add-ins not working with Word 2007 using the feedback tool from the link below.

The Add-Ins management area can be accessed by using Alt+TO, but you're right, template addins don't always appear in the list, you
may need to use the dropdown at the bottom, select 'templates' and then 'Go' to see which ones are loading, or bypassing the Add-Ins
option manager, while in Word use Alt+TI.

The SAS page offers no add-in; the only working link on the page is to its

I installed the ActiveX control, but still, nothing.

Suzanne, thanks for reiterating your message. Persisting, I found something
interesting if stupid.

On http://sas.office.microsoft.com/ I can see no links (except for the one
to the privacy policy, as I said) or descriptive text.

However, when I view the HTML source, there it all is, text and links. I'm
not sure what weird code/browser/settings interaction is causing this, but
I'm not at leisure to track it down. Odd odd odd.

I was beginning to think one of us was nuts, and I was pretty sure who that
was
