Mail merge erroneously ignores populated fields in my MS-SQL datab
I can perform a successful mail merge (labels) using Word 2003's mail merge
function against my Microsoft SQL database. I get about 1,000 labels. But when I add a "Skip Record if I_ADDR1 is blank" formula, Word skips addresses in which I_ADDR1 is NOT blank. (It correctly skips records in which I_ADDR1 is actually blank, too.) I tried the same thing with ZIP. When I add the "Skip Record if I_ZIP is blank," it gets rid of about 500 addresses when, in fact, only about 20 of the addresses don't have a ZIP code. Why does Word think that the fields are blank ... and how do overcome this issue? Thanks, in advance. Dan |
