Issue with Data Sourde in Mailmerge
I have a mailmerge setup in order to merge Purchase Orders.
In Word 2000 the merge used to work fine....however now using 2003 when I go and mailmerge, the datasource stays at the top of the document. So for example if I am merging three orders on page one I get the source and 2,3 and 4 are the orders...the source never stayed open in 2000? I suppose I could record a macros so this source doesn't print when I print the rest of the orders, however i was wondering if there was a setting or not to stop this? Many Thanks |

What do you actually mean by the "source"? Is it the mergefield names?
What type of merge is it? A catalog as it used to be called in Work 2000, now known as a direcory in Word 2003. If you press Alt+F9 to toggle on the field codes, what do you see? I have never heard of this happening before, so seeking clues that might help sort it out. -- Please respond to the Newsgroup for the benefit of others who may be interested. Thank You for the quick response.
When I say source..i think what i mean is the actual merge template with all the merge fields included. Doing an ALT- F9 gives the follownig example - {MERGEFIELD «MM_PO_SUPPLIER_NAME»} "Doug Robbins" wrote: What do you actually mean by the "source"? Is it the mergefield names? That would indicate that you have not actually executed the merge. I would
suggest that you select Toolbars from the View menu and select the Mailmerge toolbar item so that the Mailmerge toolbar is displayed. You can perform the whole mailmerge using the buttons on that toolbar and on the right hand end of it you will find buttons for executing the merge to various locations - printer, new document, email. -- Please respond to the Newsgroup for the benefit of others who may be interested.
