Default could not remove line from word document

Hi all. I am using microsoft word 2003. I received a document with a line in
between my document. I could not remove it by clicking it nor highlighting
it. The line look like the typical line produce by the drawing toolbar.
However when i place the cursor on it, the cursor turns into an arrow
pointing up and down and allow me to drag the line. Is it a line break? What
can i do to remove it? Thks in advance.

It sounds like a border. Try selecting the paragraph before it and go to
Format / Borders and Shading. If it shows a border, click on the "None" box.
If you don't see it there, select the paragraph after it and do the same.
