I AM trying to make a cd cover, can it be done with word?

Default how do i design cd covers

As Suzanne says, Word is poor at this, but you could create a three cell
table (front back and spine) with the cells fixed at the required size.
Publisher does a better job
Surething CD Labeller does a *much* better job.
You may also have labelling software included with your CD writing package -
eg Nero includes such software.
