Deleting multiple Word Index Entries
Other than highlighting and deleting individual Index Entries "XE" one
by one--is there any way to delete all or many of them, either by using Find or another way? --- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |

Yes, the Replace dialog can do this. First, make sure you can see the XE entries (they're formatted as Hidden text, so click the ¶ button so you can see them). In the Replace dialog, enter the code ^d XE (The space between the d and the X is intentional.) Leave the Replace With box empty, and click the Replace All button. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |

Display the XE fields. To remove all XE fields, search for
^19 XE and replace with nothing. If you want to search for specific fields, then add the specific text following the XE in the search term. -- Suzanne S.
