Default wireless printer

can i print wirelessly from my laptop to my printer which is connected to a
desktop pc via usb cable. I have a wireless network with broadband if this
is relevant.

If you set up your network to support that, yes. Otherwise, no.

I have trouble printing to a network printer from Woord 2007. The problem
seems to be if word is closed after printing the document it will print out.
The problem is not in all cases
