Reversed Names when creating envelopes from Outlook 2007
I am still stymied by a problem I've seen at one client.
The user runs Outlook 2007. Often they will open Word 2007, click Mailings, then Envelopes. They'll click the icon for the Address Book and choose a name from their Contacts (as opposed to the Global Address List) and click OK. Most times, the first and last names will appear in the Delivery Address field in reverse-order. (For instance, Joe Blow will appear as "Blow Joe." (No comma.)) Here are the Even Stranger issues surrounding this: 1. This doesn't occur with all contacts. 2. Sometimes when opening the same contact in Outlook 2007 directly, the Full Name field will show the same problem. Correcting it then resaving the contact will usually fix this, but the merge still does not perform properly. 3. The prevailing thought is that this can occasionally occur with brand-new contacts. 4. I can "fix" the problem by performing the following procedu - Copying the contact into a PST file. - Exporting the contact to CSV - Deleting the contact from the PST file - Importing the contact back into the PST file from the CSV - Moving the contact from the PST file back into the Contacts in the user's Exchange mailbox. When prompted to update or replace or duplicate the name, I choose update. Does anyone have any ideas on ways to troubleshoot? m |
