How do I lower the position of addresses on a label?
We are trying to print labels for addresses that are in Excel. We do the
setup and the labels look OK on preview, but when they print, they are at the very top of the label and subsequent labels begin printing at the bottom of the one above it instead of on a new label. How can we lower these labels? |

How do I lower the position of addresses on a label?
Try printing the labels onto a plain sheet of paper and see how they then
align with the label sheet. There is a common problem with many printers not being able to accurately feed the label stock that can cause the type of mis-alignment that you mention. -- Hope this helps. How do I lower the position of addresses on a label?
I have been trying to open Graham Mayer's article, but all the links seem to be dead. I have tried in both Firefox and IE with the same result. How do I lower the position of addresses on a label?
The link works fine for me. Have you tried printing the labels on plain
paper and comparing the layout with that of the label media? Or is there some other issue that you have. -- Hope this helps. Lowering the position of addresses on a label
Yes, I have tried that, Doug. The font is too small for that size of label
(postcard size on A4 sheet) and the name and address are huddled up at the top of the label. Re Graham Mayer's article, I can click on the link quoted , this takes me to his web site, but I cannot then open anything on it. |

Lowering the position of addresses on a label
In Word, labels are just tables with fixed cell dimensions, one cell of the
table to a label. Sounds like you need toright click in the labels and select Cell Alignment to set the alignment to Centre Left and then set the indent of the paragraph to move the text to the position that you want on the label -- Hope this helps. Lowering the position of addresses on a label
While the service provider that hosts my web site occasionally performs
maintenance which may briefly cause access issues, the site is currently functioning normally. If you cannot access it, I would look first to your own configuration. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org pompey wrote: Yes, I have tried that, Doug.
