Page Number Field
I have a large document that requires page numbers in the footer. When the
page numbers get above 99, the entire number wraps to the next line. How can I keep a three-digit page number on the first line of the footer? |

Page Number Field
I suggest you avoid using Insert | Page Numbers, which inserts page numbers
in a frame. Although the frame is set to Auto width, it doesn't seem to expand to accommodate longer numbers. Instead, View | Header and Footer and use the Insert Page Number button on the Header and Footer toolbar to insert the number directly in the footer. For instructions on removing the existing page numbers, see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...lyIndented.htm.
