Default Problem with Envelope Formatting

I'll type a letter, and at that time I am able to select the Evelope option
and print it. However, once I save the letter, if I go back into that letter
to use the same addressee and change the body, when I select Envelope, the
address comes up double spaced and I cannot fix it. If try to delete the
spaces to make the address single spaced, the text just comes up to the line
above, and when I press enter, the line goes back to being double spaced.
HELP!

Default Problem with Envelope Formatting

My problem is not with formatting an envelope. The problem is when I type a
letter and save it. If I go back into the letter to prepare an envelope,
when I select the Envelope option, the address is double spaced in the window
and it does not allow me to correct the spacing.

If, however, I were to pull up the Envelope option immediately upon
finishing the letter and prior to saving the document, the address comes up
as it should - single spaced in the window. The problem is when I save the
letter and go back in to perhaps change the date and content of the letter -
that is when the Envelope option double spaces the envelope.
Anny assistance is greatly appreciate.

Default Problem with Envelope Formatting

The issue is almost certainly connected with the envelope address paragraph
style, so add the letter to a document and follow the instructions in the
web link I posted to reset the attributes of the Envelope Address paragraph
style to whatever layout you require (and change the style on which Envelope
Address is based from Normal - which by default in Word 2007 has spacing -
to no style). Don't forget to add the changes to your letter (or normal)
template as appropriate.

Note that if you are collecting the addressee information from the letter,
that the envelope function will add any manual formatting applied to the
address to the envelope address, so avoid manual formatting and use styles.
