I've been having an occasional problem formatting columns of digits (baseball
box scores) with tabs. When I select a certain digit to shift it to the left
or right, what is directly above it, although unselected, also shifts with
it. I'm also having a problem eliminating unwanted leaders from areas that
should be blank. If I try to eliinate them by clicking the no-leaders option
from the tabs menu box, the leaders in the area above it (where I do ant the
leaders) also disappear. Can someone help me get this solved?

It sounds as if you have line breaks instead of paragraph breaks at the ends
of the lines. When you set tabs (and leaders) you're doing it for the whole
paragraph. Alternatively, if the lines are separate paragraphs and are all
in the same style, it may be set to update automatically; see
