Default automatically capitalizing word following letter plus a period

Word will not capitalize the first word after a letter followed by a period.
Example Q. Now. The word "now" will not automatically capitalize. I type
Q. and A. in my text all the time Is there any way to automatically do
this. I can only do it manually with the shift key which is a real pain.
This also happens after a number followed by a period. Example 1. Now. The
word "now" is not capitalized.

If you look in the Exceptions in Tools | AutoCorrect Options, you'll
probably find a. and q. You can try deleting these entries, though there
have been reports that even this doesn't help.

I've tried this and it doesn't change it. I read that this is a known
problem. I just wondered if anyone knows when there will be a work around
for it.
