Thumbs up Answer: How do i rotate a chart in word

Sure thing! Rotating a chart in Word is actually pretty simple. Here's how you can do it:
  1. Click on the chart to select it. You should see a border around the chart indicating that it's selected.
  2. Look for the "Chart Tools" tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen. This tab only appears when you have a chart selected. Click on it.
  3. In the "Chart Tools" tab, you should see a "Format" section. Look for the "Rotate" button in this section. It looks like a circular arrow.
  4. Click on the "Rotate" button. You should see a drop-down menu with several options for rotating the chart. Choose the option that rotates the chart 90 degrees.
  5. Voila! Your chart should now be rotated 90 degrees.

If you want to rotate the chart by a different amount, you can use the "Rotate" button to choose a custom rotation angle. You can also use the rotation handle on the chart itself to rotate it manually.

I hope that helps!

Hi

There are two ways to insert an Excel chart into a Word document. As far as
I can see, it is only possible to rotate the chart if it is pasted into Word
as a picture.

To see how your chart was pasted, click on the chart and click the Format
menu. If the Format menu has an option at the bottom of the menu to format a
Picture, then we can proceed. If, instead, the Format menu offers an option
to format an Object, then you will need to delete the chart, and re-copy it.
When you come to paste do Edit Paste Special and choose Picture (Enhanced
Metafile).

So, you have a chart pasted in as a picture. Click on the chart and choose
Format Picture. On the Layout tab, click Square. You should now see a
little green circle near the top centre of the chart. Drag it around to
rotate. Or, on the Draw menu, choose Draw Rotate or Flip.

Hope this helps.

Hi Laura

Is the chart pasted as a picture or as an Excel chart object? And is the
picture in-line or floating?

Hope this helps.

I have pasted the Excel chart as "Picture", "Picture(Enhanced Metafile)", and
as a "Bitmap". I do not see the settings, in-line or floating. I have
version 2000. Is this setting in another version?

Click on the object to get the Picture toolbar. Click the Text Wrapping
button (dog icon) and change the text wrapping from In Line With Text to
some other style.
