Default How do I stop the date being updated automatically?

The date keeps being updated evertime I open the file but I don't want it to.
How do I make it stay as the original date I put in?

Open the problem document. Press Alt+F9 to display field codes. You will
se something like this: { DATE \@ "M/d/yy" } or { TIME \@ "M/d/yy" }.
(The part after \@ depends on the chosen formatting.) Change the
uppercase part to CREATEDATE, press F9 to update, and then press Alt+F9
again to redisplay the result.

Unlike Date or Time fields, which update to reflect the current date
and/or time, the CreateDate field displays the date and/or time the file
was created on disk.

For easy insertion, you could add the CreateDate field to your template.
Alternatively, you can insert it as needed via InsertField.
