Default How do I keep Word open after closing a document?

When I close a Word document, Word closes as well and I have to restart it.
This is a pain - Excel and Power Point stay open after closing a document.
How do I get Word to stay open? I'm using Office 2007.

Thanks!

FWIW I ended up always using Word Office Button-Close to close the
current document. But I still forget, rather a lot.
