Normal Template loses desired View settings (Word 2003)
I have configured my Normal template and general Word 2003 preferences to
display documents without the horizontal ruler and horizontal scrollbar (application window size is set to be wide enough for standard A4 docs in Normal view without clipping). When opening saved, or creating new, documents, however, Word will often lose these desired view settings seemingly without reason. I understand that documents created by other users with their own settings may open differently (i.e. print layout view), but is there any way to force Word to retain my desired settings for my own documents? It's quite frustrating having to continuously disable the ruler and/or horizontal scrollbar on random document openings. If readers are wondering why this is important, I am working on an ultra-portable laptop, and unless I am adjusting tabsets, the ruler merely takes up valuable screen real estate otherwise best used for actual text. Thank you for any advice. |

Normal Template loses desired View settings (Word 2003)
I was hoping this was not an application "feature" requiring macro
overloading, but so be it. Many thanks for the assistance and reference. |
