Default Insert Hyperlink to a form

Hello there,

Is there anyway to allow users to add a hyperlink to a protected form. I
know how to add a usable hyperlink and then protect the form, but I would
like my users to be able to add their own hyperlinks to form fields not just
text.

Any help will be appreciated

Judith

There is no way to put a functioning hyperlink inside a form field. Word
simply doesn't support that functionality.

There is a workaround using MacroButton fields to add a static hyperlink to
a protected form at design time; see
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFl...nksInForms.htm.

Allowing users to add MacroButton fields containing hyperlinks at run time
would be considerably more difficult. You would need a userform to accept
the URL (and possibly to validate it, at least for syntax). The macro would
have to unprotect the document, build the necessary field, and reprotect the
document.

Thanks alot Jay. I thought that might be the case. I'm creating assesment
documents for students and they need to be able to link to other evidence
documents. Could you recommend another piece of software that can do this
while keeping the rest of the document protected?

Cheers
