Default How do I enable links in a protected Word document?

I'm using Office 2003 in an XP Pro environment. I have created a Word
document with hyperlinks and have protected it. However, I have found that
when the document is protected I can not access the hyperlinks. I have tried
creating a macro using the MVP instructions on "Creating a macro with no
programming experience using the recorder" by Bill Coan, then imbedding the
hyperlink using the MVP instructions on "Using hyperlinks in protected
forms", by Cindy Meister and Dave Rado, but this is not working. When I
protect the document again, then click on the hyperlink, nothing happens.
