Default Hourglass

An hourglass appears next to the cursor automatically every 7 seconds, and
stays on for about 3 seconds. How do I make it disappear?
Thanks.

That hourglass indicates your computer is doing "something" in the
background. Check your settings for autosave, etc.

Default Hourglass

This seven-second interval has come up in this or another NG within the past
