Default centering text headings for columns in a table

I'm having trouble centering text headings for columns in a table. I use the
centering tool bar keys and the text moves too far left or right. I have
also right clicked and tried using the cell orientation keys but to no luck.
Any suggestions?

Does your paragraph style have a first-line indent or left indent?
