Default Form Field of Date Type Not Keeping Month Portion Of Date

OS: WinXP, SP2
Word 2002, SP3

I have setup a document with various form fields. On one of the fields, I
have it setup as a Date type with the format of mm/dd/yyyy

If you put in the date of 08/15/2008 in protected mode, the moment the field
no longer has the focus, the field shows 00/15/2008.

Use MM for the month ("mm" refers to minutes).
