Default How do I enter an index entry with colon in text (C:N ratio)?

I want the index entry to appear like this:

C:N ratio
for graywater

Not this:

C
N ratio
for graywater

It's a shade messy, but in place of the colon, use Unicode 05C3.

"Escape" the colon by inserting a backslash before it: "C\:N ratio:for
graywater"
