Opening an attached document automatically as read-only
Does anybody know how to have an attached Word document automatically open as
Read-Only when it is clicked on? Every time that i try to send a read-only doc, the properties erase and it ends up opening without any restrictions. I know how to save and have the "Open as read-only" box be prompted, but is there a way to have it automatically open as read only? Thanks |

Opening an attached document automatically as read-only
Perhaps this is a weak answer, but Word's purpose is creation and editing of
text-- not merely reading it. The current standard of read-only is Adobe. Consider purchasing Adobe or eqivalent to create "pdf" documents which are generally read-only formats intended for the purpose of reading only. When anyone receives such documents, the "reader" software is a free download and available to anybody with an internet connection. We can't make such assumptions with Word. -- Y "sitchman" wrote: Does anybody know how to have an attached Word document automatically open as Read-Only when it is clicked on?
