what is the difference between editing and formating text
I find no difference at all. when you cut and paste you are moving and

Generally editing changes the content. Formatting changes the appearance.

I agree with Charles: editing is for content and mechanics (punctuation,
capitalization); formatting is for appearance and functionality (page layout, styles). -- Suzanne S.
