Default 2 keys switched themselves

I'm using Office 2003 Standard Edition and when in Word and Outlook, have a
problem. 2 keys have somehow switched round. I now have to hit Shift/ " for
the @ sign, and shift/@ to get the " sign. No idea how this happened.

I've tried reinstalling the disk to correct errors, and tried messing around
with the symbols shortcuts, but nothing changes.

I'm a writer, so use " all the time and am totally frustrated by this. Any
ideas??
Thanks.

These two symbols are swapped on U.S. and U.K. keyboards. You've got the
wrong keyboard layout selected.

Thanks, Suzanne--that makes sense as I tried to make the speech thing work so
I could talk-type and did mess around with the language option as I am from
the UK living in US. I couldn't make it adapt to UK speech despite choosing
that option, and despite it saying 'United Kingdom' on the tool bar.

I just tried switching back to US on the language bar, but that doesn't hold
the change and reverts back to UK. Do you know how to make the change
permanent?

You need to change the keyboard setting in the Windows Control Panel.

Default 2 keys switched themselves

I get this problem, but it is slightly different

Im using Outlook 2007 and this problem just seems to randomly happen, ie
instead of pressing SHIFT+2 to get a " I need to press SHIFT+'.

My keyboard is permenatly set to United Kingdom and is still set to UK when
I get this problem !
